Colin Ritchie is currently the CFO of Agora Asset Management and COO of First Empire Capital, who has had various experience in financial services and data analytics. Working at ANZ, Morgan Stanley and Merricks Capital, Colin indeed has a large breadth of experience and is actively involved in sharing his expertise. Colin has showcased this time and time again, being one of the founders in our career journeys workshop – a CFO’s insight in a time of disruption – and taking on an intern to help formulate an online mentoring program.

Cainz x Holistics presents: A Bitesize event with Evan Tan!
Run by former University of Melbourne student and current Chief of Staff at Holistics, this event includes an online webinar where you will experience first hand, what it is like working with big data analytics in the industry.
During this interactive session, you will develop the basic, necessary skills required for such analysis and try your hand at simple SQL coding.
Join Cainz and Vanguard for an Asset Management workshop where you will have the opportunity to learn more about life at Vanguard and a career in asset management.
At this interactive workshop, you will gain insight into Vanguard and be provided with hands on experience with real life business cases.

Discussing the importance of technology, Colin will demonstrate how technology can be used in data analytics, what this means for your future career and how this led to him found RitchViewer, a data analytics tool.

Cainz invites you to our Financial Modelling Workshop with Lance Rubin, where you can learn about the significance of financial modelling.
Lance has a wealth of modelling experience across financial and professional services having worked at two of the Big 4 accounting, Investec Bank Corporate Finance & Advisory and National Australia Bank across both retail and wholesale banking divisions and products. He now runs his own financial modelling consultancy firm, Model Citizn.
The workshop will start off with a 1 hour discussion session, focusing on the trends and future applications of financial modelling, including the impact of automation and new technology, as well as the programs and software that can be used for financial modelling.
This semester’s Executive in Residence at the University of Melbourne, Steven MĂŒnchenberg will be joining us in an intimate session where attendees are provided with a unique opportunity to gain valuable insights from an accomplished industry professional!
Until last year, Steven was the Chief Executive of the Australian Bankersâ Association, dealing with the banking industryâs growing political, regulatory, media and social risks. He previously led government relations for a major bank through the global financial crisis, was Deputy Chief Executive of the Business Council of Australia. Much of his thirty year career in public policy has been working directly with the chief executives and chairs of Australiaâs largest companies. He currently advises institutions on understanding and managing their reputation risks.
To help you get a head start in learning Microsoft Excel and how it’s applied in the workplace, Cainz is excited to present: Excel with EY! This is the opportunity for you to learn from Peter Aitken (former Melbourne Uni student and senior consultant for EY) and colleagues across two days of workshops! The first workshop will cover basic commands and formulas, while the second will provide insight into more advanced commands and the opportunity to test your skills through a practical application.

Cainz is excited to present our first event of the second semester: Bottom Up Investing Event, run by Roger Walling, Portfolio Manager at Ralton Asset Management.
Roger will be joining us to present his investment methods, firstly looking at company specifics then an industry overview.

This panel event will present the opportunity for you to learn more about our experienced panelists, as well as gaining in depth knowledge on the effect of interest rates on global equities. The panel will be discussing the current climate of increasing interest rates and rising inflation, as well as how it has come about. This event will further provide you with a look into how this situation currently effects global and growth equity funds around the world.

The first workshop will cover basic commands and formulas, while the second will provide insight into more advanced commands and the opportunity to test your skills through a practical application.

Cainz is a commerce-centric club aimed at bridging the gap between academic concepts and professional practice. We focus on providing our members opportunities to expand their knowledge on relevant real world issues whilst learning new skills and developing their abilities. This semester weâll be hosting a variety of events ranging from workshops and seminars to panel discussions and networking sessions. We also publish regular articles as part of our publication, the Cainz Digest, as well as quick-read infographics designed to keep you up-to-date on global, current affairs. Cainz is excited to present our first event of the second semester: Bottom Up Investing Event, run by Roger Walling, Portfolio Manager at Ralton Asset Management.
Roger will be joining us to present his investment methods, firstly looking at company specifics then an industry overview.

Director, leader and board member of various organisations, Mr Rick Sawers is an individual with an extensive career at ANZ and NAB, holding leadership positions in Australia, USA, and the United Kingdom. Rick was formerly a Board member, and Chair, of AFMA as well as a life member of the Financial Markets Foundation for Children.

Cainz is very excited to present, on the 22nd of March, our first panel event for the year: The Future of Global Equities! We are extremely eager to welcome our guest speakers who will be coming from Munro Partners, Bell Asset Management and Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
This panel event will present the opportunity for you to learn more about our experienced panelists, as well as gaining in depth knowledge on the effect of interest rates on global equities. The panel will be discussing the current climate of increasing interest rates and rising inflation, as well as how it has come about. This event will further provide you with a look into how this situation currently effects global and growth equity funds around the world.
